Claremont High School, Harrow HA3. Main building east wing – New Build three storey.
Surveyors. ABA Chartered Surveyors.
Client: Claremont High School.
Cost: £1.4 million. Completed October 2010.
This is the redevelopment of the east wing of the school. The existing single storey building was demolished and the site cleared.
The proposal was to build a new three and one storey wing consisting of a dining hall and eight classrooms, with some of these within the roof space.
The layout resulted in columns tight against the existing building with resulting cantilevering ground beams supported on plied foundations.
The structure was a steel frame with upper floors consisting of insitu concrete on metal deck flooring. The flat roof was metal deck with the pitched roof constructed from cut timber.
